What do these qualifications cover?
18th Edition
The qualification covers the full content of BS 7671: IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition. The Regulations apply to the design, erection, and verification of electrical installations, and additions and alterations to existing installations.
EAL Level 3 Inspection and Testing
The application of knowledge involved with the inspection and testing of electrical installations. Each Award has one unit which covers the necessary learning outcomes for initial verification, and periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations. This includes learning outcomes about safe isolation, inspection, safe testing, pre-energised and energised tests, documentation, and the practical use of test equipment.
Entry Requirements
If you live in any of the following areas – Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton then there is no additional requirement. However, if you reside outside of these areas, you could still apply but we need evidence to prove that you work within the areas.

Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.
600/4338/6 and 603/2625/6 – Periodic Inspection and Testing
These qualifications are intended for electricians who hold relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications and want to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD), learn new skills, and enhance their understanding of periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations.
The periodic inspection and testing qualifications must NOT be taken by learners new to the industry who do not possess sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to undertake inspection and testing safely and competently. These qualifications are also not suitable for learners with limited experience of working in the electrotechnical sector, or who do not already hold relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications.

All training and assessments for this package of funded course will be completed at Teach A Trade, Halesfield 23, TF7 4NY.
How will this courses be assessed?
18th Edition
This qualification is assessed using one on-screen multiple-choice exam only. The exam must be passed for the qualification to be awarded.
Key aspects:
EAL Level 3 Award In Electrical Installation Inspection, Testing, Certification and Reporting –
One on-screen (OPEN BOOK) exam with 60 questions: (four answer options and advanced question types). (Exam code ITC3/001).
There are also two centre marked practical assessments consisting of: Periodic inspection, and Periodic inspection and testing. (These are the same practical assessments utilised in the EAL Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations).
