Bathroom Installation

This training package has been designed for those with little or no prior experience that are either seeking a career change to become a bathroom installer or looking to complete a project on their own homes. 

Your Course Outline

Plumbing

  • Health and safety surrounding the tasks you will be undertaking
  • Plumbing systems and fittings
  • Soldering techniques
  • Jointing, bending and pressure testing copper tube
  • Dealing with valves, taps, cisterns
  • Plumbing pipework
  • Installation of a bath and taps
  • Installation of a shower tray
  • Installation of a basin, taps and associated pipework
  • Installation of a toilet and associated pipework
  • Installation of a radiator and associated pipework
  • Installation of various types of showers and shower pumps

Tiling

  • Setting out your tiling work
  • Explaining the specific adhesives used for different surfaces
  • Demonstrating all the tools required
  • Cutting tiles using wet tile cutters, dry tile cutters, tile scribes, tile snips and tile saws
  • Explaining tiling involving Borders, Diamonds and Patterns
  • How to cope with tiling difficult areas such as uneven walls

 

Duration

The bathroom installation course takes place over a 3 week time frame.  This course is designed to be totally hands on from day 1. The intensive format allows you to have the maximum exposure to pick up the skills required.

Location

All of the courses are delivered at Teach A Trades’ specially designed training centre in Telford, Shropshire.
