Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems 600/5175/9

Course Structure

What is this qualification?

This qualification in solar photovoltaic (SPV) has been developed to enable the building services engineering sector to play its role in meeting the carbon reduction targets set by Government. Lowering energy consumption and a reduction in emissions cannot be achieved unless the sector designs, installs and maintains renewable and environmental technologies, and provides the best advice to customers. This qualification has been developed from units that reflect the national occupational standards to enable a highly skilled workforce in the building services engineering sector. The achievement of this award will encourage an employee to value their contribution to the workplace, and it will develop their skills and potential. The performance units within the award may be assessed through practical activities in the workplace or, as appropriate, in simulated conditions.
