EAL Level 3 Experienced Worker Qualification in Telford

Course Information

Course Information

The EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification is designed for experienced electricians who have been working in the industry but do not yet hold a recognised Level 3 electrotechnical qualification.

This route allows practising electricians to have their existing skills, knowledge and workplace competence assessed against the current industry standard. It is aimed at experienced workers who are already carrying out electrical installation work and now need formal recognition of their competence.

The qualification combines workplace evidence, assessor review, professional discussion and site-based assessment. Candidates build a portfolio based on real electrical installation work while demonstrating competence across domestic and commercial environments.

This is not a beginner electrical course. Candidates must already have substantial industry experience and be able to provide evidence of installation, inspection, testing, fault-finding and commissioning work completed in the workplace.

Teach A Trade includes two site visits within this route:

  • One domestic site visit.
  • One commercial site visit.

Candidates must also hold:

  • Current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Combined Inspection and Testing qualification.

These are required because the Experienced Worker route is designed to confirm full occupational competence before progression to AM2E and ECS Gold Card eligibility.
